Arriving in Virginia Beach: The Start of a New Travel Story

There’s something about arriving somewhere new that makes you slow down and notice the little things.
Right now I’m staying on the north end of Virginia Beach, surrounded by ocean views, beautiful resorts, and the easy rhythm of beach life.
Along the shoreline you’ll find many of the well-known hotels - the Hilton, the Wyndham, the Embassy Suites - all sitting right along the sand with restaurants, coffee houses, and little places to gather just steps away.
Before we begin exploring everything this area has to offer, I wanted to take a moment to share a few thoughts from Virginia Beach.

A Place Rich With History
One of the places that immediately caught my attention here is the historic Cavalier Hotel.
The Cavalier has been a landmark in Virginia Beach for nearly a century. We stayed there once before, and it’s one of those places that instantly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. It’s elegant, historic, and full of stories that are woven into the fabric of this area.
And history seems to be everywhere here.
Just a short drive away is Williamsburg, where so much of America’s early story began. This region is deeply connected to the events and people that shaped the country during the Revolutionary War.
You can feel that sense of history even in the neighborhoods, where many homes display crests and symbols that reflect the area’s proud heritage.
The Beginning of Our Virginia Adventure
This is just the beginning of our time in Virginia.
Over the next few days we’re hoping to explore more of the area, possibly visiting Sandbridge Beach and taking a trip to Williamsburg to learn even more about the history that lives here.
But for now, this is simply the start of the journey — a quiet moment to take in where we are before the adventure really begins.
And sometimes those little moments of arrival are just as meaningful as the places you go.

Have you ever visited Virginia Beach or Williamsburg?
I’d love to hear your favorite places or memories in the comments.
