When was the last time you said, “I sleep great every night”? If your answer is “not lately,” you’re not alone.

Here’s the truth: sleep isn’t just downtime. It’s when our bodies heal, our brains reset, and our health is restored. Without it, we face everything from higher stress to greater risk of illness.

The good news? Much of our sleep quality is in our own hands — in the little habits and rhythms we create before bed.

I like to think of it as sleep hygiene. Just like brushing your teeth or washing your hands, good sleep requires a routine. It’s not glamorous, but it’s powerful.

Pillars of Better Sleep

  • Get morning sunlight. A few minutes outside resets your body’s natural clock.

  • Create an evening routine. Tea, journaling, reading, stretching — the simple stuff works wonders.

  • Put away your phone. I know, I know. But an hour or two screen-free makes a huge difference.

  • Watch what you eat and drink. Heavy meals, caffeine, and alcohol can all sabotage rest.

  • Exercise and keep consistent. Move your body during the day, and try to wake and sleep at the same times.

You don’t have to overhaul everything at once. Start with one or two changes and see how your sleep shifts. Over time, those small choices add up to big results.

Your health is worth investing in.

Never give up.

With love,

Sarah
