Some trips are about sightseeing. Others are about food or adventure. But this one — this one was about love, faith, and family.
When my nephew, Vincentas, was to be baptized in Lithuania, there was no hesitation. Bags were packed, flights were booked, and my heart was already there before my feet even left the ground.

The Ceremony
The church was breathtaking — sunlight pouring through tall windows, gilded details shimmering around the altar, and brilliant red ribbons draped in celebration. The air felt full of joy and reverence as family and friends gathered to witness this special moment.
Vincentas, dressed in his tiny baptismal outfit, was the picture of sweetness. As the priest poured the water and spoke the blessings, I felt such a wave of gratitude — for the generations before us who kept faith alive, and for the chance to see that faith carried forward.

Time with Loved Ones
The celebration didn’t end at the church doors. We wandered cobblestone streets, lingered over meals in sunny courtyards, and raised glasses to family — both near and far. Laughter bounced off old stone walls, mixing with the sound of clinking cutlery and the hum of conversation.
It was a reminder that even when miles and time zones separate us, family ties remain strong — and that shared moments like these stitch our stories together in ways nothing else can.

Why It Mattered
Traveling for an event like this isn’t just about being a guest — it’s about being part of the moment. It’s showing up, being present, and adding your voice to the chorus of love and support.
When I think back on my time in Lithuania, I’ll remember the beauty of the place, yes — but more than that, I’ll remember holding Vincentas, the warmth of family hugs, and the unshakable joy of knowing we were all together for something truly meaningful.
