I still get butterflies when the lights dim and the curtain starts to rise.Something about the hush that falls over the crowd, the first notes from the orchestra, and the sheer anticipation of a story about to unfold — it gets me every time.
Last weekend, we wrapped up the Broadway season at ASU Gammage with a night that can only be described as electric. Moulin Rouge! was our grand finale — a bold, glittering swirl of red velvet, rhinestones, and music that somehow made you want to dance and cry all at once.
And let me tell you, watching it from the cozy comfort of our local theatre — just a short drive from home — made the magic feel even closer.

Why Live Theatre Still Feels Like Magic
There’s something special about live theatre. It doesn’t just entertain — it transports. One moment you're sipping wine in your seat, and the next you're in 1890s Paris or the middle of Times Square.
For a few hours, the outside world melts away. And all that matters is the story unfolding in front of you.
This past season has been a joyful blur of unforgettable performances. From dazzling dance numbers to tear-jerking ballads, every show reminded me how powerful the arts can be — how they help us feel more deeply, dream a little bigger, and even heal a little faster.

A Sneak Peek at the 2025–2026 Broadway Season
As the red curtains close on this chapter, the excitement is already bubbling for what’s next. And let me tell you — the upcoming 2025–2026 Broadway season lineup?Absolutely stacked.
Here are just a few that already have my heart doing somersaults:
🎭 Mrs. Doubtfire – Because who doesn’t need a dose of heartfelt hilarity?
💃 Some Like It Hot – Classic charm meets toe-tapping fun.
👒 Suffs – A powerful tribute to the women who shaped history.
✨ Wicked – An old favorite that always feels brand new.
🔍 Clue – Murder mystery meets comedy? Yes, please.
And that’s just the beginning. It’s like being handed a stack of unopened love letters from Broadway — each one with its own flavor, message, and melody.

Here’s What I’ve Learned…
You don’t need to fly to New York to experience Broadway.Sometimes, the magic is right in your own backyard.
All you need is a ticket, a little curiosity, and maybe a friend who’ll sneak in snacks (just kidding… kind of 😉).
If you’ve never treated yourself to a live show at ASU Gammage — or your local theatre, wherever that may be — consider this your sign. There’s something so life-affirming about sharing laughter, tears, and standing ovations with a room full of strangers who all came for the same reason: to feel something real.

Your Turn
Seen a live show recently that moved you?Or is there one on your wishlist from next season’s lineup?
Let’s chat in the comments — I’m always looking for theatre buddies.
Here’s to stories that stay with us long after the final bow — and to the next season of joy, wonder, and the occasional jazz hand. 💫
With love (and maybe a little leftover sparkle from Moulin Rouge!),
Tammie
