If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that Halloween isn’t just for the kids. Sure, they get the candy, but we get the fun—and that includes getting a little creative in the kitchen.
Whether you’re hosting a costume party, corralling little trick-or-treaters, or just watching a scary movie with the lights turned down low, these easy Halloween snacks are guaranteed to steal the show. They’re festive, kid-approved, and best of all—no fancy tools or cauldrons required.
Here are a few of my spooky-season favorites that come together faster than you can say boo!

👻 Dirt Cups (aka “Graveyard Pudding”)
There’s something delightfully nostalgic about these little cups of chocolatey goodness. They remind me of the Halloween parties from my kids’ elementary school days—plastic spiders, bobbing for apples, and lots of giggles.
It’s equal parts creepy and cute—and let’s be honest, no one has ever complained about extra chocolate pudding.
Ingredients
20 chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos)
4 cups cold milk
2 (3.9-ounce) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (8-ounce) tub Cool Whip
1 package gummy worms
1 package Milano cookies
1 tube black writing gel
1 package candy pumpkins
8 clear 6-ounce plastic cups
Instructions
Place the cookies in a large resealable bag and crush with a rolling pin (or pulse in a food processor).
Write “RIP” on 8 Milano cookies using black gel and set aside to dry.
In a large bowl, whisk the pudding mix into the milk until smooth; let it set for 5 minutes.
Fold in the Cool Whip until well-combined.
Fill each cup halfway with pudding, then sprinkle with a layer of crushed cookies.
Repeat layers, finishing with cookie crumbs on top.
Decorate with gummy worms, candy pumpkins, and a Milano tombstone cookie.
Tammie’s Tip: You can make the pudding mixture a few hours ahead and pipe it from a ziplock bag when ready to assemble. Just wait to add the cookies and worms until serving so they stay crunchy and chewy.
🧟♀️ English Muffin Mummy Pizzas
These are one of my go-to Halloween snacks because they’re as easy as they are adorable. Plus, everyone loves pizza—especially when it’s dressed up like a mummy.
They make the perfect pre-trick-or-treat dinner or spooky party snack.

Ingredients
1 package English muffins
1 jar pizza sauce
1 package sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese, cut into thin strips
1 package mini pepperoni slices (or regular size cut into quarters)
1 small can sliced black olives
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Split English muffins in half and lightly toast them (toaster or oven). If baking, brush with olive oil first.
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on each muffin half.
Add a few pepperoni slices.
Lay cheese strips in a crisscross pattern to make “mummy bandages.”
Add two olive slices for eyes.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are golden and cheese is melted.
Tammie’s Tip: You can prep these ahead of time and pop them back in the oven for a few minutes to reheat when guests arrive. No delivery required.
🧟 Frankenstein Pudding Cups
If your crew loves crafts and sweets, this one’s a winner. Start by drawing little Frankenstein faces on clear plastic cups (Sharpies work great).
They’re as fun to make as they are to eat—especially if you let the kids decorate their own monsters.

Ingredients
2 boxes white chocolate instant pudding
4 cups milk
Green food coloring
Clear plastic cups
10 Oreo cookies
Sharpie marker
Instructions
Draw a Frankenstein face on each cup using a Sharpie.
Whisk pudding mix with milk until thickened.
Add green food coloring a few drops at a time until you reach the shade you like.
Spoon pudding into cups, leaving about 2 inches at the top.
Crush Oreo cookies and sprinkle crumbs on top for “hair.”
Tammie’s Tip: Want a little variety? Make Pumpkin Pudding Cups instead—just use orange food coloring and draw Jack-O-Lantern faces.
🎃 Jack-O-Lantern Floats
This one’s pure joy in a cup—perfect for little ghouls and grown-ups alike.
It’s creamy, fizzy, and festive, and the best part? It doubles as a Halloween activity and a treat.
Ingredients
1 (2-liter) bottle Fanta or Crush orange soda (mini cans work, too)
1 container vanilla ice cream
Clear plastic cups decorated with Jack-O-Lantern faces
Green straws
Directions
Pour a small amount of orange soda into the bottom of each decorated cup.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Pour more soda on top until foamy and bubbly.
Add a straw and serve immediately.
Tammie’s Tip: For a grown-up version, try swapping the soda for orange cream soda—or even a splash of sparkling wine for a cheeky “Boo-zy Float.”
🌭 Mummy Hot Dogs
Every Halloween needs at least one savory snack, and these “mummies” always get rave reviews. They’re warm, buttery, and just the right amount of spooky.
Ingredients
1 can original crescent rolls or crescent dough sheet
1 package hot dogs
Cooking spray
Ketchup and/or mustard, for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly spray a baking sheet.
Unroll the crescent dough and cut into thin strips about 1 cm wide.
Wrap strips around each hot dog, leaving a small space near the top for the “face.”
Bake for 10–13 minutes, until golden brown and puffy.
Add two small dots of mustard (or ketchup) for eyes.
Tammie’s Tip: Serve with a variety of dipping sauces—honey mustard, spicy ketchup, or even a little cheese sauce. They disappear fast, so make extra!
🕸 A Few Final Tricks (and Treats)
Each of these recipes is simple enough to make with kids—or to whip up last-minute when spooky inspiration strikes.
Because Halloween isn’t about perfection—it’s about laughter, sticky fingers, and snacks that make everyone smile.
If you try any of these, I’d love to hear which one was your favorite! Leave a comment below to keep the spooky fun going.
Happy Halloween, friends—and remember: calories don’t count when you’re wearing a costume. 😉

These are adorable and would be so much fun to make with the little ones or even the big ones 😉
