A Little Buttermood: The Lotion Drops I've Grown To Love

Last fall, I went to the Arizona Pinners Conference in Scottsdale with a little plan and a lot of curiosity.
I wanted to browse, meet a few makers, and see what kinds of creative products people were bringing into the world.
Events like that are always full of surprises. You walk in thinking you’re just going to look around, and before long, you’ve found something you didn’t even know you were looking for.
That’s what happened when I came across Buttermood Soap Studio.

Their booth had that sweet handmade charm that makes you slow down for a minute. And then I saw the Lotion Drops.
At first glance, I’ll be honest, I thought they looked like little candies.
Thankfully, I did not eat one. Growth is knowing when to ask questions first.
What Are Lotion Drops?
Buttermood’s Lotion Drops are small, individual pieces of solid lotion that melt with the warmth of your skin. You take one, rub it into your hands, elbows, heels, or anywhere that needs a little extra moisture, and it softens into the skin like a rich body butter.
But without the big tub.
Without the mess.
Without the lid that somehow always disappears the second your hands are slippery.

They’re simple, sweet, and practical, which is exactly the kind of product I love. Not fussy. Not complicated. Just a thoughtful little thing that does what it’s supposed to do.
Why I Loved Them
There’s something about these little drops that feels special.
They’re easy to keep by the sink, on your nightstand, in a guest bathroom, or tucked into a travel bag. They would make such a cute little gift, too. Not too big. Not too fancy.
Just one of those “I saw this and thought of you” kinds of things.
And those are my favorite kinds of gifts.
The kind that say, “Here, take care of yourself a little.”
I also love that they come in different scents and options, so you can pick something fun or keep it simple. Whether you like something fresh, fruity, clean, or unscented, there’s a little mood for everyone.
And yes, the name Buttermood is adorable. I’m giving them full credit for that.
A Tiny Arizona Warning
Now, because we live in Arizona, I do need to say this.
These are Lotion Drops.
They are designed to melt.
So if you leave them in your car in the middle of an Arizona summer, they may become less of a “drop” and more of a “buttery little situation.”
Still lovely.
Still moisturizing.
Just not quite as cute sitting in the package.
So treat them like chocolate, good lip balm, or anything else you love enough not to abandon in a hot car in July. Bring them inside, keep them somewhere cool and dry, and they’ll behave beautifully.
Your future self, and your purse, will thank you.
Why I Wanted to Share Them
One of the things I’ve loved most about growing Moments With Tammie is getting to share the little discoveries that make everyday life feel more special.
A great recipe.
A local boutique.
A handmade product.
A place that makes you feel welcome.
A small brand where you can tell someone cared about what they were making.
That’s what I felt with Buttermood.

It wasn’t just lotion. It was cute, useful, giftable, and made with personality. The kind of thing I would put in a guest bathroom, add to a little care package, or give to a girlfriend just because.
It’s not fancy, but it feels thoughtful. And sometimes thoughtful is exactly what we need.
Should We Bring Finds Like This to MWT?
This also has me thinking.
As Moments With Tammie continues to grow, I’ve been wondering what it could look like to share more of the little products and brands I come across along the way.
Not a giant online store full of random things. That’s not really me.
But a small, thoughtful collection of products I actually like? Things I’d recommend to a friend over coffee? That feels more like us.
There’s a lot that goes into ecommerce, and I don’t want to add products just for the sake of adding products. If we ever do it, I’d want it to feel personal, useful, and connected to the kind of everyday moments we already share here.
Buttermood’s Lotion Drops feel like the kind of product that could fit beautifully into that.
So I’m curious. Would you be interested in seeing finds like this available through Moments With Tammie someday?
And if you’re local, keep an eye out because they’ll also be available soon at Apricot Lane Boutique, which feels like the perfect place for a sweet little discovery like this.
Final Thought
Sometimes the best things you find are the ones you weren’t exactly looking for.
A little booth at a conference.
A product that makes you smile.
A lotion drop that saves your dry hands.
A reminder that everyday care doesn’t have to be complicated.
Just don’t leave them in the car.
I mean it.
